you really need to be more aware of how to adjust to your opponents. especially at the $5 level, i'm sure you get an extremely wide range of player types as opponents. some will fold to cbets like 8%, others will donk bet 70%, still others will fold to every board they don't hit. Gather reads as quickly as possible to make an educated guess as to what they're weaknesses are and exploit them. As a guide:

Players who Never Fold To Cbets

Adjustment: Cbet less, cbet bigger, and cbet lighter for value. Take hands that might otherwise be in your checking back range (middle pair, bottom pair, mayeb top pair with like k4 on k63hhh) and bet them, often twice, for value on the flop. Take hands that totally whiff the flop, such as 87s, out of your cbetting range on boards like q43. It simply doesn't matter if it's your only chance to win the pot, if it's a -ev play, your still better off cehcking and giving up.

Players who Fold to Every CB

Adjustment: Cbet a lot, cbet smaller on dryer flops. Against these guys its often correct to CBet hands like bottom pair on flops too because you'd rather just take it down than have to deal with calling bets later in the hand. Hands to check back vs them would be top pairs on dry flops where your hand is not vulnerable to a variety of turns, such as A4 on A62. Bet nice and small on the dry flops, and slightly bigger on the coordinated ones. These guys tend to look at their hand and the board and the betsize, and if they don't like the end result of the 3, they just fold.

Players who CR A Lot

Adjustment: Cbet less. Against these guys it's probably best to have a cbet % around 40-60%. Don't cbet hands that you don't want to get checkraised with, even stuff like Q6 on QT9 is probably better off checked back, along with your standard middle pairs, ace highs, and stuff. Be very willing to cbet your total air, the 85o's on KQ4, etc. Since your opponent will be CR'ing a lot, it's best to either cbet with hands youre quite happy about calling the CR, or quite happy about folding to the CR.

Players who Donk a Lot

Adjustment: Gonna leave out how to play vs the donking strategy, but it's generally better to raise on dryer boards where they rarely have anything, the same as it is to cbet them when they check. The interesting thing about frequent donk bettors is that they will very often either only check when they don't intend to fold, or only check when they do intend to fold. Figure out which one your opponent is and it should be pretty easy to figure out how to play against it.

Clueless Players:

Adjustment: Make your bet sizes extremely exploitable. When you have AK on AJ4 with a flush draw, bet way bigger than you'd bet with 97o on the same board. If you don't suspect your opponent will adjust properly or realize what you're doing, it's YOU that is making the mistake by remaining 'unexploitable'. Go with your reads, esp at that level. Learning to trust yourself and practicing getting solid reads on your opponent early on is more important than any winrate or cbet % numbers at the $5 level.
